Jallianwala Bagh Tragedy (1919)
- People were against arresting of their popular leaders Dr Saif-ud-din Kitchlew and Dr Satyapal.
- On 13th April, 1919, Baisakhi Day, hundreds of people were massacred and several thousand wounded in Jallianwala Bagh where they had assembled to held a protest meeting against the repressive policies of the government.
- The troops led by General Dyer opened fire on the unarmed men and women, young and old, Hindu and Muslim. It was regarded as the worst massacre during the entire freedom struggle.
- Hunter Commission was appointed to enquire into it.
- Sardar Udham Singh killed General Dyer on 13th March, 1940, when the latter was addressing a meeting in Caxton hall in London.
जलियांवाला बाग त्रासदी (1919)
- लोग अपने लोकप्रिय नेताओं डॉ सैफ-उद-दीन किचलू और डॉ सत्यपाल की गिरफ्तारी के खिलाफ थे।
- 13 अप्रैल, 1919, बैसाखी के दिन, जलियांवाला बाग में सैकड़ों लोग मारे गए और कई हजार घायल हुए, जहां वे सरकार की दमनकारी नीतियों के खिलाफ एक विरोध सभा आयोजित करने के लिए एकत्र हुए थे।
- जनरल डायर के नेतृत्व में सैनिकों ने निहत्थे पुरुषों और महिलाओं, युवा और बूढ़े, हिंदू और मुस्लिम पर गोलियां चलाईं। इसे इस दौरान सबसे भीषण नरसंहार माना गया था संपूर्ण स्वतंत्रता संग्राम।
- इसकी जांच के लिए हंटर कमीशन नियुक्त किया गया था।
- सरदार उधम सिंह ने 13 मार्च, 1940 को जनरल डायर की हत्या कर दी, जब वह लंदन के कैक्सटन हॉल में एक बैठक को संबोधित कर रहे थे।
Estimates of those killed vary between 379 and 1500+ people[1] and over 1,200 other people were injured of whom 192 were seriously injured.
